With reference to your letter of the 3rd ultimo 31905/1900, I am directed by the Secretary of State for War
to acquaint you, for the information of Mr Secretary
Chamberlain, that it is regretted that an answer cannot
be given at an early date on the subject of the exchange
of lands at Hong Kong, referred to in paragraph 4 thereof,
as it has been found necessary to refer to the station,
the information furnished regarding the Kowloon sites
being insufficient.
