(B).
Forwarded and recommended, except in the
cases of Simoes, Puckeera and Abbass; the last
named having only just been engaged the arguments
would not apply to him and I do not think the services
his services
of either Mr Simoes or Mr Fuckeera worth more than
their present salary. On the other hand Mr Alarakia
is paid far too little for the work he does and I fear
that unless his salary is raised, we shall not retain
long. Mr Gidley, who is a man of
considerable attainments is paid far below the market
rate and has only taken the position until he can get
something better. The expense store accountants and
the Superintendent of Water Transport should get an
increase as men in similar positions in civil life are
getting and the Superintendent of Water Transport should
be put upon the same scale as the Expense Store
Accountants as was recommended before and as was
intended to be granted but through a clerical error
he only receives an annual increment of $4 a month
instead of $5.
