may see that they are sent to the destination an-

nounced. I am instructed to take this opportunity

of infoming Your Excellency that the British au-

thorities at Hongkong a short time ago refused to al-

low the exportation of 8 cases of arms and ammuni-

tion which were despatched from Germany by the

above mentioned firm for Vladivostok on board the

steamers "Königsberg" and "Bamberg" of the North

German Lloyd on the 26th of July and 4th of August,

that is before the issue of the prohibition of ex-

portation in Germany.

In accordance with instructions from the Im-

perial Government, I have the honour to request Your

Excellency to be so good as to cause the necessary

instructions to be sent to the British authorities

at Hongkong in regard to all the consignments men-

tioned in this note, and to cause them to be au-

thorized to allow the exportation of the goods in

question.
