Authorities at the port of landing, stating that the

carts have been duly delivered as per contract.

3. Two days extra to be allowed for the

setting up and oiling and delivering &c. of the

carts at Tongku or Hymku.

4. For any delay in giving delivery beyond

the 4th day of August, due to their fault, the Nichi-

Yel-Gumi will pay to the British Government a forfeit

of 500 Yen per day; and for any delay in taking

delivery due to the fault of the British Military or

Naval Authorities, the British Government will pay

to the Nichi-Yel-Gumi in like manner a forfeit of

500 Yen per day.
