I have laid before the Marquess of Salisbury
your letter 5528/1900, confidential, of the 14th
instant relative to the visit paid by the Viceroy Li
Hung Chang to the Governor of Hong Kong on the 15th
of January.
Lord Salisbury concurs in Mr. Secretary
Chamberlain's proposal to approve the language held by
Sir Henry Blake to the Viceroy on the subject of
Kowloon, and his friendly and politic attitude towards
him.
