Mr Nash should be instructed to render an account

of all the dies prepared for this coinage, and the manner

in which they had been disposed of, and to return the pun-

chos to the custody of this Department.

On the assumption that some such arrangement will

be effected, I am to state that the necessary assays will

be made here as on previous occasions, and the necessary

punches &c. can be transmitted to Birmingham in the course

of four days.

Hong Kong - Rog: 423 Coins.

I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of

your letter of the 28th ultimo and to say that we have

been in communication with Mr Jamos Nash and havo ascer-

tained from him that he would be prepared to undertake the

supervision of the coinage for the Government of Hong Kong which is about to be executed by the Mint at Birmingham for

a fee of £8. 8. a week and his travelling expenses and

he would be ready to enter upon the work on Thursday or

Friday next.
