With reference to your letters No.14949/00 of the

17th May and No.17914/00 of the 9th June last I have the honour to submit the name of Mr Edward Griffiths as a suitable candidate for the post of Wardmaster in the Civil

Hospital at Hong Kong.

Mr Griffiths who is single and 27 years of age, is at present employed at the Banstead Asylum and has been recom- mended to us by the Medical Superintendent of that Institu- tion who informs us that he has an excellent character. Judging from à personal interview he appears to us to be

well suited for the vacant post.

Mr Griffiths has passed a satisfactory medical

examination by Dr Manson,
