I am directed by the Master of the Mint to acknow -

ledge the receipt of Mr Blake's letter of the 6th instant,

with reference to a fortnightly supply of $250,000 in ten

cent pieces for the Government of Hong Kong, and to state

that the Mint is not in a position to undertake this coinage

Should the Crown Agents concur in the proposal, I

would endeavour to make a monthly delivery of two millions

and a half of ten cent pieces, from July next, but no pledge

can be given that this out-turn can be maintained for any

considerable period of time without fail.
