7. With regard to the elevations the general pro- portions of the building have been kept and are as shown
on the first sketches though of course large scale
elevations have a different appearance on paper than when
put into perspective.
8. With regard to the dome it was found necessary considerably to heighten and increase this in order that
it might be properly seen from the ground round and we may say that the present proportions are founded on
those of St Pauls. The foreshortening from the ground
will of course considerably alter its appearance and
this we have consequently to provide for.
9. Should it be finally decided to leave the building as at present planned we will see to what extent we can bring the west elevation to assimilate to
the east one which is at present preferred.
