In reply to your letter No 3207/1900 of the 1st
instant respecting the designs of the proposed new law courts
ebruary 1900.in Hong Kong, I have the honour to enclose a copy of a report
by the Consulting Architects on the suggestion to reverse the
building, from which you will see that some serious inconve--
niences appear likely to result from the adoption of this
proposal. They point out however that the main lines of
foundations are not affected and may be proceeded with.
