Report by H. M. Consul General at Canton of reparation obtained for insults offered to the British flag by natives in the West River.
Submitted, with reference to my letter No.791 of
10th November 1900. Tardy reparation has now been made,
but the Chinese in the district will soon understand that
their ants of violence cannot be committed with impunity.
