Observatory.

The increase to the pay of the 2nd. Computer in

the Observatory is due to the fact that it was found in-

possible to engage the services of a competent officer

at less than $50 a month.

Bobanical and Afforestation Department.

The new scale of pay for the clerk and Interpreter

was decided upon with a view to obtaining the services of

better men than had hitherto applied.
