June. The payees also would probably have had on some occasions to wait for the money should the Treasurer have been absent at Council (or on other duty) as all cheques have to be signed by him.

The cheques which were drawn on 28th.May and not paid to the payees till June were treated

as outstanding cheques on 31st.May.

Rule 165. The word "not" is apparently omitted in refer-

ence to bullion lying at the Mint being treated as an As-

set.
