The duties of the post will be to keep

regular watch as required, to be responsible

for the good order and condition of the

Lighthouse and apparatus, dwelling houses,

etc. and to work the Fog Signal. The officers

selected will also have to work the Telegraph

instrument. If they are unacquainted with

the Morse code, they will be afforded facili-

ties for learning it at the offices of the

Eastern Extension Telegraph Company, and

until they are certified to have a sufficient

knowledge of the code, they will have to de-

vote the whole of their spells ashore to

learning it.

7.

The officers selected will be on the

permanent establishment of the Colony, and

will come under the same rules as other per-

manent Goverment services in respect to

leave and pension. A printed paper,
