With reference to Major-General Jascoigne's
despatch No. 354 of the 1st. ultimo, I have the honour to state
that subject to your approval I have appointed Mr. Dalieto to the clerkship for which a salary of $900 is provided on the Estimates. No Officer has yet been appointed to this post, and Mr. Dalieto has been recommended for it by the Acting Postmaster-General. Por the clerkship at $720 per annum vacated by Mr. Dalieto, I do not propose to make any recommendation at the present time.
