Sir,
With reference to my despatch No.266 of
the 6th.instant, I have the honour to inform you that when the Meridian 1130 53′ 29 7 came to be laid down on the Admiralty
Chart of which a copy is enclosed, it was found that the Chart
is wrong, and that the Meridian as shewn by the inner red line
does not cut the mainland at the proper spot.
The outer red dotted line on the Chart
shows the correct boundary and the position the Meridian
above quoted would occupy if the Chart were correct.
