Sir,

With reference to Sir H.A. Blake's des-

patch No.95 of the lath.March, 1900, I have the honour to in-

form you, that by an oversight the provisional appointment - on the 28th. December last, of Mr.P.A.V.Remedios, Clerk at

$1,200 per annum, to be Superintendent of the Registration

Branch vice Mr.Barron transferred to the Police Department, was

not reported to you, and your approval of the appointment

. asked.

2. Mr.Remedios was allowed to draw salary

at the rate of $120 per mer.sem pending your approval of his

appointment, and I beg to suggest that if his appointment is

now approved he be permitted to draw the full salary of the

post ($150 per month) as from the 16th of March laso.

3. Mr.Remedios has 12 years service in Post

office, and has given satisfaction as Superintendent of the

- Registration Branch.

4.Consequent! Mr.Remedios' promotion the

following appointments were made for which I have now also

to ask approval:- Mr.C.J.Demee, 2nd. Marine Officer at $720 plus

$480 travelling allowance per annum, to succeed Mr.Remedios;

Mr.E.Dalieto,Clerk at $720, to succeed Mr. Denee; Mr.J.Ribeiro,

3rd. Marine Officer at $720 plus $480, travelling allowance per

: annum, to be Deputy Superintendent Registration Branch at $960

: per annum, vice Mr.Kent appointed to that office on probation RIGHT HONOURABLE
