Examining when necessary dead bodies found or re- ported as being upon premises, and to advise, as to whether death has resulted from an infectious disease.

11. Directing the disinfection and cleansing of all infected premises, and to advise upon and if adopted, to enforce, the best methods of prevention of the spread of infectious diseases.

12. Superintending the special works authorised by Byelaws 23, 34 and 25 made under 5. 13 of Ordinance 15 or 1894, during periods of epidemic and to visit and report. upon the districts so affected.

13. Advising as to the necessity for new sanitary laws and byelaws, and to assist in drafting them, when required to do so, and
