On C.8.0. 2454/1899 the Board obtained 2 extra Inspectors and a Clerk, and since that they have got 3 more Inspectors, making & Inspectors and 1 clerk in all.
My own opinion is that the Board would have been wiser to have asked for fewer Inspectors and to have made a sine quâ non of an Assistant Medical officer, for looking to the class of men we get as Inspectors out here I am of opinion that one Madical Officer out, and about the town, which the Medical Officer of Health has not the time to be as much as is desirable, would be worth double or trɗble the mumber of Inspectors.
I think the Board should be informed that having regard to the large additions to the Staff of Inspectors authorised since the beginning of the year, Government cannot see its way to recommend at the present time a still further increase to the Starr of the Board.
I think the Board should wait and see what they can do with this extra staff.
