I have the honour to inform you that I have provisionally appointed Mr.Sheik Alli Bux, fourth Clerk at the Magistracy, to fill the new appointment of Hindustani Clerk and Interpreter in the Police Department provided for in the Estimates for the current year, at a salary of $960
per annum,
Before he was promoted to the Magistracy Mr.Bux was for 17 years Clerk and Interpreter in the Police Department.
He combines a knowledge of Chinese with Hindustani and is reported to be a competent Clerk, and I recommend that he be permanently appointed.
