sir,
In view of the fact that the salaries of the Engineers in the Public Works Department, have been increased
under authority of your despatch No.280 of the 8th. December 1899, I have the honour to suggest for your favourable consideration that Mr.J.F.Botilton whose position ar Executive Engineer on the Praya Reclamation formed the subject of the correspondence noted in the margin, should
alro receive an increase to his salary, and
Governor to Secretary of State, No.246 of 25th. August, 1899.
Secretary of State
to Governor, No.231 of 15th. October, 1899.
I would recommend an addition of €600 per annum which ould make his salary equal to the
initial salary of the Senior Executive Engineer
in the Public Works Department, as by no means excessive having regard to the magnitude of the work upon which he is employed.
Mr.Boulton has had no increase of salary since the 1st. of March 1895,cnd is an extremely capable and deserving officer.
