I have the honour to transmit for the significa-
tion of Her Majesty's pleasure the enclosed Ordinamer
entitled "An Ortinence to amend and consolidate the law
relating to the carriage, movement and possession of
Arms and Arwnition" No. 9 of 1900.
2. There w ́s, as was to be expected in view of the
fact that the trade in arms and amunition at this Port
is to a large extent illieiz,considerable opposition to
this Bil1.
The Bill was read a first time on the 23rd. of
November, and a second bine on the 21st. of December 1899,
but, prior to the second reading on the motion of Mr. E.
R. Belilios seconded by one of the Chinese members, Dr.
Ho Kai, Counsel was heart on behalf of the Chinese dealers
in arms.
