two years my junior. The population of Singapore is con-

siderably less than that of this Colony, and the duties

of the Medical Officer of Health of that city can hardly

be more onerous than those of my office, in view of the

fact that this Colony has unfortunately to combat with

yearly outbreaks of Bubonic Plague

I am 36 years of age and have been engaged in

the practice of my profession for more than fourteen

years.
