consideration the enclosed memorial addressed to you with my

permission by Dr.Clark, Medical Officer of Health, and Sanitary

Superintendent, praying that he may be allowed to participate

in the increase of salaries sanctioned, subject to the consent

of the Legislative Council, in your despatch No.280 of the 8th.

the double post of Medical Officer of Health and Sanitary Su-

perintendent should it be found practicable to amalgamate

them, and that Dr.Clark was accordingly selected for the post

of Assistant Surgeon in the Medical Department of this Colony

on the salary of $3600 per annum with 720 house allowance
