5. As I was convinred that serious friction
might result from the continued employment of Mr. Barron in the Post Office, and that any future disagreements might be detrimental to the interests of the public, I endeavoured to arrange for the transfer of en official from the Public Works Department to the Post Office, and for Mr. Barron's transfer to the vacated post in the Public Works. It was net found possible to do so and I was obliged to allow Mr. Barron to remain in his former position.

On November the 13th. a further Report
was received from the Postmaster General containing fresh charges against Mr.Barron, copy of which as furnished to

The second case against Mr.Barron was
tried in the Executive Council on the 27th. of December, and after full consideration the Coutil atvired that Mr.Barron should be removed from the Post Office and re- ducer to his original position of Police Constable (copy of minute enclosed).

8. I concurred in the advice of the Council
and directed ir.Barron to be informed that he was removed from the Post Office, and gave instructions that he should report himself to the Captain Superintendent of Police. Mr.Barron objected that he could not, be transferred to the Police Force as it was "different from the Ordinary Civil Service," whereupon I directer the Colonial Secretary to inform Mr. Barron that if he declined to report himself as directed he
