Report on Ordinance 36 of 1899.
I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled "An Ordinance to consolidate and amend The Laws relating to Merchant Shipping, the duties of the Harbour Master, the control and management of the waters of the Colony, and the regulation of vessels navigating the same."
and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the Governor's Instructions.
Objects and Reasons.
The principal reason for the introduction of this Ordinance is to bring local law, which is based on English law, into line with The English Merchant Shipping Act of 1894.
