I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch No.6 of the 5th ultimo, enclosing a copy of correspondence with Mr. H.L. Dennys relative to his resignation of the appointment of Crown Solicitor and to the selection of his successor.

2. With reference to the 3rd paragraph of letter No.41/1900 from the Colonial Office to Mr. Dennys, I have the honour to inform you that from enquiries which I have made, I consider that Mr. Bowley, who has been acting as Crown Solicitor, would fill the post in a satisfactory manner, and I therefore recommend that his appointment be confirmed.
