I append a table showing in detail the admission and mortality during the quarter, with the proportion of cases treated by Western and Chinese methods respectively.
Of the 609 admissions, 458 were under native treatment, 137 were treated according to Western methods, 3 were transferred to Kennedy Town Hospital, 10 to Government Civil Hospital and 1 to the Italian Convent.
Of the 249 deaths, 61 were admitted moribund into the receiving ward, two of which were Plague.
80 male and 21 female corpses were received into the Hospital Mortuary to await burial. Of these 5 were sent to the Public Mortuary for Post-mortem examinations as suspected Plague or other infectious diseases.
5 Post-mortem examinations were made in the Public mortuary on bodies died in the Hospital.
During the quarter free burials were provided for 428 persons.
13,848 males and 7,522 females - total 21,370 were seen in the out-patient department.
188 destitute persons were temporarily housed and relieved.
