In reply to the second paragraph of your despatch No. 265 of the 24th November, I have the honour to transmit for Inclosure the terms under which Beaconsfield was rented by the Government, and for your information the enclosed copy of a Report on the circumstances as to the period of the lease granted by the owner.
1. The rents formerly paid by Government for outside offices amounted in all to $340 per mensem as against $425 for Beaconsfield, but the advantages of the latter shown in the report are well worth the extra expenditure.
