I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 12th inst. informing me of my proposed selection for the post of Assistant Harbour Master at Hong Kong.
As I am, at present, under a doctor's hands, I shall be unable to present myself for medical examination for a few days, but I trust I may be able to do so at the end of this week.
Should I successfully pass the medical adviser, I shall be prepared to leave this country forthwith.
