(4) In view of my services to the Colony of Hong Kong, especially during the continuance of plague in the year (already brought to the notice of the Colonial Office) and being still in hopes that there may be an opening in the Colonial Service,

I beg most respectfully, that my case may be brought to the notice of the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, with a view to my being given another appointment in the Colonial Service.
