Sir,
I have the honour to Acknowledge receipt of your letter No. 3738/99. dated the 4th inst. And in reply beg most respectfully to state that –
The Right Hon. Secretary of State has been pleased to decide that there would be no advantage in granting me an interview as stated in letter No. 2258/99.
(1) Could I be permitted further to report to the Colonial Office, with reference to my services in Hong Kong,
(2) In the event of my applying for an Appointment in H. M. Prisons in Scotland, I beg respectfully to enquire if I could continue to draw my pension from the Hong Kong Government - while in the Prison Service.
Should I succeed in getting the appointment, could it be considered, for ... the Colonial Farm Opening
The Under Secretary of State Colonial Office London.
