I, Utter Singh, late Sergeant-major of the Hong-Kong Police force, do hereby make oath and swear as follows:
That I have never received any written order of dismissal from the Hong Kong Police nor have I received any copy of such an order.
That I have never received any copy or written information of the reasons given for my dismissal, or relative to my dismissal.
That in the decision of any ... or dismiss of February 1897 Mr. J. F. Ruce, solicitor acting on my behalf, applied by letter to the Captain Superintendent of Police, Hong Kong, for a copy of the evidence against me or of any statements made against me and the said Mr Reece subsequently informed me he was unable to obtain any reply whatever.
