With reference to your letter No.28082 of the 26th ultimo, transmitting a copy of correspondence on the sub- ject of the services rendered by the Hong Kong Volunteers in connection with the occupation of the new territory, I am directed by the Secretary of State for War to forward, for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, a copy of a letter which he has caused to be addressed to the General Officer Commanding the Troops in China and Hong Kong.
