With reference to War Office letter of the 9th June, 1899, Hong Kong 8/57, on the subject of the extension of the Naval Yard at Hong Kong and completion of the reclamation in front thereof, I am directed to acquaint you for the information of Mr. Chamberlain that Lord Lansdowne has received a letter from the Admiralty covering a copy of their letter to the Colonial Office dated 15th June, 1899, W.L.1586/1659 asking for concurrence or remarks on the revised scheme for the War Department reclamation therein referred to; and I am to enclose for Mr. Chamberlain's information a copy of the War Office reply which has been made to the Admiralty on the subject.
