Hong Kong - Reqn 1004 - Appts.
Sir,
With reference to the 2nd paragraph of your
letter No. 10049/99 of the 6th May last, I have the honour
to submit the name of Frederick Evans as a suitable candidate
for the post of Hospital Warder in Hong Kong.
1
Evans, who is single and 24 years of age, is at
present serving as a Private in the Royal Army Medical
Corps which he joined rather more than five years ago, and
is stationed at the Victoria Hospital at Netley. He informs
us that if appointed he would take his discharge which he
thinks would not take more than a month.
The answers to enquiries which we have made as
regards Evans's personal character and technical qualifications
have proved entirely satisfactory and he is said to
be well suited for the appointment.
Evans has passed a satisfactory medical examination
by Dr Manson as to his fitness for service in a
tropical climate and we were quite satisfied by a personal
interview which we had with him.
I have the honour to be,
Under Secretary of State,
&c &c &c
Colonial Office.
Victoria Hospital
Netley.
Sir,
Your Obedient Servant,
