I am directed by Mr Secretary Chamberlain to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 26th ult. relative to the engagement of a Hospital Warder for the Victoria Gaol at Hong Kong.
2. In reply, I am to inform you that Mr Chamberlain approves of the limit of age being raised to thirty-five years if a suitable candidate cannot be obtained under the age of thirty; but
