With reference to my letter of this date I am
instructed by H. M.'s Govt. to act as proposed in
my telegram of the 11th inst which was to the
following effect- that we should occupy Shanchun
drawing line from the North of the town to a boundary
at the fork of the River, South of Wongpailing.
This with the occupation of Kowloon will therefore
be the scope of the operations.
