will be submitted to the Public Works Committee in due course. So far from the Members of the Legislative Council refusing to vote this sum, they have urged the Government to push forward the works for an increased water supply in Kowloon.

Paragraph 12
12 (c). Mr. Whitehead complains of the insufficiency of the vote on account of the Tai Tam Extension. But the Council has been already informed by me that if a larger expenditure must be incurred, supplementary votes will be brought forward for the approval of Council.
22. Paragraph 12 (d). The question of Staff is a matter of detail with which the Government must deal, and as has been already pointed out it is at present under your consideration.
