I Perritory should have been
cut down at $50,000 instead
of $100,000 unless it is
anticipated that arrears
of
Rent for 1899 will be received
during the current year.
6 I am still awaiting infor-
mation as to the items of Revenue
referred to in my Despatch No.
258 of
the 15th November last.
7 It is
to be regretted
that many
items
of
Expenditure as indicated below
have not been placed
upon the Estimates but will have
to be met by a Supplementary
Estimate, & I desire to confess
that the Annual
Estimates should always include
the total Expenditure, so far
as it can
by any
means be
anticipated & I hope to explain
with reference to your remarks
in your speech to the
Council enclosed in
your
Despatch under ack't that it
is not absolutely necessary to
confine
the Estimates of
Expenditure there is no
objection
to the Govt submitting in
the Estimates for the S of S
