that Indian Officers in the Hongkong source should not have any family Remittance privileges; & for this reason they cannot be granted Exchange Compensation which is on the same footing as Family Remittance.
I take this opportunity of pointing out that the existing Rules, in regard to Exchange Compensation, apply only to those Countries whose currency was at the time of their issue on a gold standard, in the same way as was laid down in the case of the Rates of Exchange for Leave & Pension pointed in the first para. of my Despatch last no. 18 of the 20th Jany last.
