Suite to my Confidential Despatch of the 20th ulto last. I have decided, as you have informed me that you have received my despatch of the 28th of December last, that the average salary of the late Commandant should be increased to $1050.00 from the 1st instant.
This increase of salary to the late Commandant will be in lieu of the proposed personal allowance, and I am not prepared to approve of the increase being greater from the 1st July last.
