As I was acting Secretary when the Mt. Kiang Committee in effect refused to comply with the wish of the Jubilee Committee that the section "Town and Kennedy" should be the firm section to be undertaken, you will pardon me for entering into the subject with you now.
26 April 1897
At the Jubilee Committee meeting presided over by ... 527, the resolution of 26 April 127 was passed upon the strength of subscriptions received. This resolution, together with the proceedings of the Committee, was published in the local papers.
When I learnt of the grounds on which the Committee based their consideration, I obtained from the Hon. Treasurer, Sir Thomas Jackson, a copy of the printed report.
