At present the staff consists of
Mr. Crook, Executive Engineer.
Mr. Jacob, engaged on surveys for projected extensions
and drawing work.
Mr. Mollison, in charge of pumping stations and work in
the City.
Mr. Ross, in charge of pumping stations and work in Kowloon.
Mr. A.W. Millar, Water Inspector.
Mr. J. Millar, Water Inspector.
Mr. Tse Tsan Tai, Clerk.
The staff has remained as it is for many years, while
the extension of the City, the increase in population and the
consequent extension of water services have gone on rapidly.
The number of domestic buildings in Victoria (exclusive of
Barracks and Police Stations) is 7,438, the water services in
which should be periodically inspected, and the number of meters
in use which have to be read and recorded monthly is 553.
The estimated revenue from water for the current year
is $111,000 which will probably be exceeded, while the estimated
expenditure is only $96,000.
