With the house, and in view of the small size of the school, to start with, this remuneration should prove sufficient to attract suitable teachers.
It is advisable that the wife's pay be quite separate from the husband's, as otherwise the Government would be left in the lurch, if the wife denied that she was engaged as a teacher.
8. Fees.
I do not think for a new school, it would be wise to ask higher fees than at Queen's College
25 children at $5- $125 per mensem
25 children at $2- $50 per mensem
$125 + $50 = $175 per mensem
$175 x 12 = $2,100 per annum, however the original text stated $1,500 per annum.
I fear that the Government cannot expect the Kowloon School to be self-supporting in its youth; any more than any other.
