to supply vacancies, as the elders leave.

If accommodation is provided for 72 children, I fancy

it will meet the demand for the next five years as personally

I am inclined to doubt that more than 40 will seek admission,

immediately on the opening of the school.

6. Temporary Building.

All that is required are two classrooms, 18 X 28

each; the size of one smaller class rooms, which comfortably

seat 36 scholars a piece.

An airy well-built house, with two such rooms on the

ground floor, leaving four rooms for the occupation of the

master and mistress should serve.

Such a house might be hired by the Government for a

year or so while the permanent house is being erected.

By this means, the school could be opened from 1st

January, 1899.

7. Staff.

A Master and Mistress, a married couple, ages

between 25 and 30, each duly certificated as a teacher, would

appear the most suitable arrangement for a mixed school, and
