I have heard from Sir Claude MacDonald, who has received intelligence from his correspondents at Peking and Tientsin
that a collision between Japan and Russia cannot long be deferred. The information has been obtained from Japanese sources. Particulars are known at the Foreign Office, but I think it will be seen by
Chamberlain M.P.
and
also by Salisbury.
