I have the honour to transmit for your consideration the enclosed Prospectus of the Police service in this Colony as drawn up by Mr. May, Captain Superintendent of Police, and to suggest that it should be printed and distributed by the Crown Agents for the Colonies, together with the usual conditions of service, when they are applying to Police Forces at home for recruits.
2. In drawing up this Prospectus Mr. May has been careful to make no promises. Only facts are set forth showing the real nature of the Police force, and drawing attention to the allowances which can be earned by deserving officers in addition to their ordinary pay. Its publication may have the effect of facilitating recruiting for the force, which is considerably undermanned.
The Right Honourable
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient
Humble Servant,
