7. Keeping rate-payers indexes. The number of European owners of tenements in both Victoria and the Villages is about 270 while that of the Chinese owners in Victoria alone is about 1370 and in the large villages such as Yaumati, Hung Hom, Shaukiwah East and West the number of Chinese owners exceeds 360. This work has lately been increasing owing to the constant changes of ownerships in the house properties especially in Victoria.

8. Checking applications for refunds on tenements in the Hong Kong and Kowloon Villages.

9. Copying Quarterly lists of houses in Military occupation.

10. Entering Interim Valuations of tenements in the Hong Kong and Kowloon Villages and quarterly Rates on ditto in the Interim Valuation Books.

11. Making alterations of the names of owners in the receipts and notices from the Weekly returns furnished by the Land Office.
