The following is a statement of duties I discharge at present as 6th. clerk.
1. Calculating quarterly amount of Rates due on each tenement in the Hong Kong and Kowloon Villages from the annual amount given by the Assessor and entering ditto in the Village Valuation Books at the different percentages of Rates as follows:
12% on Kowloon Point, Yaumatei, Hung Hom and part of Hung Hom West.
10% on Hill District except Tai Koo's Sanitarium which is at 8%.
10% on Mong Kok Tsui
9% on some 16 villages
8% on part of Hung Hom West
7% on remaining villages
2. Making out some 4000 European receipts of both Victoria and Village Rates per annum (in foil and counterfoil). This involves a good deal of ciphering and checking work.
The work is to be done quarterly, that is, making 1000 receipts
